Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.
Well, Today I did week 1 day 2, which goes as the following: 10 reps rest 60 sec, 12 reps rest 60 sec, 8 reps rest 60 sec, 8 reps rest 60 sec, max (at least 12). Again, I did the first four stages fine, but failed to meet their max. I am going to stay at week 1 da 1 until I get it right, and then mo...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.
Update: Yesterday (Tuesday 5/11/09) I started the hundredpushups.com workout. Week 1 day 1 goes as follows: 10 reps rest 60 sec, 12 reps rest 60 sec, 7 reps rest 60 sec, 7 reps rest 60 sec, max (at least 9). I successfully completed steps 1-4 but did not reach 9 push-ups on step 5. After thinking ab...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.
Lots of different and varied opinions on the subject. Me, I used to max out and go to muscle failure everytime. Then I read on here under the pullup improvements how that's a bad thing. I started reading, and educating myself. http://www.alpinetactical.com/store/ Military Fitness, by Nate Morrison....

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.
Thank you for all of your help Rangers. I plan to exceed 50, but that is temporary goal because it is the goal that has been set for me before I can test for my next belt in taekwondo. But I'd like to be able to do at least 100 before I join the military.
Again, thank for your time and advice.

Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.
Well, I have looked around on the PT board, and seen some topics on push-ups but none directly addressing my question. First off, I max out at about 18 push-ups (I know, pretty bad). My goal is 50 push-ups. I want to know, in your experiences, do people improve more doing many intervals of an easier...

Re: Are all Rangers trained in infantry tactics?
I wish to know, Ranger ., because I want to know if I joined the Regiment as a medic, FO, etc. if I would still be able to learn the same tactics that the infantry get to learn, or if that is reserved for infantry Rangers.. wrote:Ninjaman, why do you want to know?

Are all Rangers trained in infantry tactics?
I'm sorry if this question has been asked here before.
Anyway, suppose someone went into the regiment as a medic, forard observer, etc. (non-combat arms MOS), would they be trained in the same infantry/combat tactics that all the combat arms Rangers are?

If I was to go the enlisted rout...
If I was to go the enlisted rout, become a Ranger, serve for a few years, and then do the "green to gold" program, would I be retain my spot in the Rangers? I'm just heavily weighting officer vs enlisted and I know I have a while before I have to choose, but I want to get all the informati...

Re: Becoming a Ranger from within the army?
Am I correct that you are posing your question because you home schooled and thus need some college credits to qualify for an Option 40 contract? Another way to Reigment is to enlist and when the time comes to re-enlist for the 75th Ranger Regiment. Several men on this site have done this. Thank yo...

Becoming a Ranger from within the army?
Thank you for your time Rangers, I have searched the topics and FAQs but have not found anything that explains quite what I want to know. I'm sorry if it's been sitting right under my nose and I missed it. So here's my question: Is it possible to become a Ranger from within the army, and if so, how ...
