Re: Turning down a commission
You are sure you have Ranger Contract? You did not specify a date for RIP. I think that should be on your contract. Ranger Bill, While I do not have an assigned date for RIP, I understand that this is not uncommon, especially since I won't be finished with all other initial entry training and ready...

Re: Turning down a commission
Ranger Jim, I have learned that in seeking a goal, its okay to be persistent. I have always had a problem with getting vocal about things I don't approve of. I generally avoid inter-personal conflicts as a whole, but sometimes to do at the cost of creating a cooperative solution to the problem. By n...

Re: Turning down a commission
Ranger vxhybrid,
Thank you for the information, if I quit my job and take additional classes I should just barely be able to finish a quarter early, making my earliest possible ship date anytime after 21 MAR 09. I'll make sure and let my recruiter know about the change.

Re: Turning down a commission
Rangers, There was some confusion at the Recruiting Office with regards to my status as a disenrolled Cadet and what needed to be done to get me into the system. Fortunately I'm friends with a Recruiting Company Commander so he was able to get me squared away and put one of his station commanders in...

Re: Turning down a commission
SITREP: Went down to Sacramento MEPS last Saturday. All 1's on PULHES, 99 on the AFQT, 141 GT score. I was a walk-on so no contract yet, but there doesn't appear to be any obstacles once my recruiter submits my application, probably will go back down to sign on the dotted line after the holidays. In...

Re: Ranger Medic Recruiting & Training
Ranger Doc75, I saved a copy of the original post, and my copy of the Ranger Medic Handbook arrived in the mail today, thanks for explaining where to find it: Just because I have seen queries on here in the past, I will post the official response. Ranger Medics are MOS 68W personnel with the ASI “W1...

Ranger j.rico 1) I am a scholarship recipient. 2) I have read the sticky on accessions and also seen first hand the disparity between what branches cadets want, and what branches they get. Especially when their GPA's are as low as mine (2.7) 3) I've been in the ROTC program for about 2.4 years now. ...

Turning down a commission
For those of you who haven't read my Intro, I am an ROTC cadet in the process of turning down a commission. I go into the reasons pretty extensively in my Intro, but the short version is, I believe I would better serve my country as a Ranger than as an officer at this point in my life. I have only v...

I wanted to enlist right after high school, but my parents insisted that I go to college first. I'm glad I went to college, and I'll be going into the Army with 2 years of Arabic under my belt. Talking to Cadre members with a lot more experience than I has been the main factor in me changing my mind...
