Ranger Silverback,

I posted here because I have been reading through this board the past couple weeks. It has helped me understand what I need to do to be able to join the 75th Rangers. I believe it is only appropriate that when you take you also give.

My intentions were to give some of the ...

Ranger bmf:

Try interval training for rugby. Helps you keep size but keeps cardio up. Our coach had us doing sprint/fast jog sprint/fast jog for 60 min 2 times a week. It seemed to really translate on the pitch to kicking ass in the second.

btw. Flanker for Uinversity of Minnesota RFC 2002-6 ...

Max out your run time (or better)

So you are a couch potato that has sat on his ass his whole entire life and you can't get better then 16:00 on the two mile? Well here is one of the quickest ways to improve that score and max it out in a few months or less.

This technique is called interval training and there are many ways to do ...

So I finally have my 368 in my hands (after five months!), and while I haven't seen it on paper my recruiter says that it is possible to get me an option 40 on my contract. I don't know why I would be able to get it and no other PS is able to, but hey i'm not going to complain. I'll let you know ...

Back injury - ideas for back/core conditioning for rucking

My lower back got pretty messed up during my deployment in '05. I never let it recover during that year as my unit was always over tasked/under staffed.

My doc at the VA said that my spine was fine and that I had some pretty bad scaring in my muscle tissue from not letting my injury heal properly ...

Ranger Dan,

Sounds like a smart idea - thanks.

Now I just have to wait for my 368 to come back from the state. I submitted my letter in June and still haven't received it. Paper work pisses me off.

After looking at AR 601-210 for awhile it looks like my best bet will be to take option 4 (airborne) with unit selection - get my tab and hope to be able to 4187 to the 75th. Really doesn't make sense that option 40 isn't available to prior service, but I guess somebody with a heavy collar has a ...

I want to do this, but my worst fear is to be stuck in a RA unit for years where I am not challenged.

Ranger Silverback I don't believe my intended meaning was apparent in those words.

What I meant is that I want to be a part of a unit with high standards. I've seen it too many times in the ...

No E-4 Slots? Suggestions

Here is my quagmire. Looking for some suggestions.

So I want to go active duty from the guard. I want to be a part of the 75th. Problem is that when I contacted the LNO he stated that they are currently over their MTOE for E-1 to E-4. My plan was to sign a contract with the option 4 and talk to the ...

My Intro

I am currently serving with a Unit in the Minnesota National Guard with a 11B MOS. I served in Iraq where my unit was attached to 3ID as a part of the 4th BCT in the wonderful area of south eastern Baghdad from early 2005 to early 2006. (Anybody ever visit the oil refinery?)

Upon returning to the ...
