I have both the Gortex and desert TFX. I got the gortex ones on my 8 hour pass between Darby and Mountains. I wore them the entire FTX in Dahlonega and they held up to some serious punishment. I was so impressed with them that I went out and bought the desert model so that I could have a pair to use...

Thank you both. Ranger AbnRgr289- yes I do, my Grandmother is going to pin me, she has been my biggest supporter of my quest since I was commissioned, she even read 'No Excuse Leadership', 'Blackhawk Down', and bought a video about Army Rangers from the history channel so that she knew exactly what ...

Update
Well I made it through RAP week no sweat. The bayonet assault course sucked my ass, but all in all it wasn't too bad, kind of fun. I did however fail both of my patrols in Darby. First one, BTL 1 on 16-1, didn't update my supply list on the WARNO board before the OPORD, second one SL 1 on 16-4, duri...

fartleks, hills, and intervals. if there is a track nearby, (regulation length, not the one mile long style tracks but the 400m) try running one lap as fast as you can then walk 100m, then run two laps as fast as you can, then walk 100m. repeat this cycle 4 or 5 times. do it every other day and in b...

It's Here
Well my time has come. In less than 72 hours I report to 4th RTB. I've worked hard for this day for a long time, and it is finally here. I don't know if nervous is the right word, I think anxious is a more appropriate way to describe my feelings. I am physically and mentally ready. My PT is the best...

I'd say that my feet are pretty tough, I have been very lucky when it comes to my feet, unlike some of my peers. Very rarely I will get a blister but it's usually really small and nothing a piece of athletic tape won't fix. I guess all those years of lifeguarding and walking around barefoot on concr...

Oh Shit!
So everyone's favorite 'Cherry LT' (yours truly) did something stupid. He stuck his boots in the dishwasher to try and soften them up, and it worked great. But he forgot to take the insoles out after he took them out of the dishwasher and now there is a whole lot of mold and mildew in the bottom. Ho...

I got my information from the HHC Commander at 2-11 and the Commander of 2-11 and the Command Sergeant Major at 2-11. Class 03-07, the class that starts on 05NOV is the pilot class for the new changes. There was talk of the changes during my IOBC class but we didn't know if it would actually happen.

Re: Changes
The CWST was implemented for a reason. It does occasionally come in handy in Florida. I can imagine. In IOBC We did all the events the old way. During MOUT week we did the 5 miler and the 2.5 mile buddy run, we had done the CWST at the beggining of the course and we took two APFT's. But since they ...
