Re: 300 Club

I see this is a little over a week old, but hopefully you'll read this and be able to learn from my mistakes. I say this not as a judgment of your character or physical fitness - but you are probably not doing PU to standard (note: nothing to worry about). Noted on LDAC: You may have an 'easy' grade...

Re: IOBC Journal

I've read your journal about 2.5 times now. Used your blog to help me with housing, questions I had and overall motivation.

Leave for Benning in a few weeks. Thanks for a good capture of your experiences.

Re: Vibram Five Fingers

Bigboybob, These shoes are all part of the "barefoot running" craze going around. The main problem with these those is their major selling point - there's nothing between you and the ground. Often your foot will take a beating with these shoes. I'd recommend them for lifting, but I'd just ...

Re: GI or Malice pack or others?

I would do regular PT, because rucking honestly is just having a set and doing the goddamn job. Break yourself while on the army dime so the army has to fix it. Thanks Ranger RSOV, I guess it would be better to go into the Army as pain free as possible. I'm sure they'll break me plenty during my ti...

Re: GI or Malice pack or others?

Rangers, Not meaning to hijack, but since we're on the topic of rucking... I'm buying an ALICE to practice up rucking before I commission and (ADSOing for) IOBC, RS etc. I'm lifting a lot, running too; but figured I'd get your advice on this: (I understand rucking is it's own beast but...) Other tha...

Re: GI or Malice pack or others?

Doughboy11C I was talking to my friend about packs and he gave me this advice (he's USMC Scout Sniper): In relation to MALICE: "Malice sucs. Heavy cordura, unnecessary floppy pockets excessive pockets ALWAYS lead to the operator realizing "ooh I have extra room" and stuffing unnecesar...

Re: Ak build

DEC, I second the ultimak. I have a railed tube from them and put an EOTech on it for my dad (bad eyesight), and the thing is sturdy. AK still fires well and no issues of it coming loose. Be careful with the stock exchanges, a lot of the AK's back blocks are a PITA to change out with a new stock (bu...

Re: Lloyd Irvin's Martial Arts Academy

Thank you Ranger Panthersix, I had to cow-tow and kiss his feet for him to give me a warning! As far as not doing AFROTC, that's a smart decision. Especially after doing a tour with Rangers I don't know if you could've stood it, girl in the program had a PT score of 9PU, 8SU and a 20 some run!...

Re: Lloyd Irvin's Martial Arts Academy

Just my luck. I met some guys at the gym last night who head the BJJ club at school. Going to be doing that when the semester starts up.

Ranger Panthersix,

I did a rolling stop at a stop sign on campus...the cop treated me like I just killed an old woman.

Lloyd Irvin's Martial Arts Academy

Hello Rangers, I've recently been very interested in picking up BJJ as a sport for multiple reasons. I was looking around for some places to train in the area where I go to school, but all look pretty shady, and of course, "Every instructor is a black belt, etc." Sounds like Bullshido and ...

Re: Got a new toy on Black Friday.

Ranger PocketKings, That would be my mom's. And how did you know it was a Longaberger . I'll go hide in my corner now. EDIT: Range Report: Took it out to the range today, with my new scope and bipod. This rifle is great. It delivers what it promises as a 1 MOA rifle, but I still bet it can out ...
