Re: VFW
You guys having any GWOT era veterans show up blueskiesalways? I've had quite a few buddies go check out various VFW's/American Legions and I'm yet to hear of a positive interaction between those of my generation and older veterans at these places. My own outside experience with the local VFW comman...

Welcome to the site. What's your deciding factor(s) on choosing Regiment over SF or vice versa? Do you want to be an 11B or a something else (eg maybe a Chaplain's assistant in your case)? Good luck and never quit!

Re: Washing out?
These may not be able to be answered but I'll ask it anyway... How does one "wash out" of RASP. For example, I know that in SFAS, one can wash out by voluntarily withdrawing, medically withdrawing, not getting selected, etc . But how does someone not make it through RASP? Second question,...

Re: Introduction-Luke
Push ups-32 Sit ups-36 2 mile run-17 min (But I think I ran like 2.3) Pull ups-2 (Couldn't do them but got 2 on my last JROTC test) I know these scores are embarassing, but a couple months ago I was doing 14 pushups and 20-something situps so I've improved a bit and I'm looking to improve a lot mor...

Re: Introduction-Luke
If your end game is to be an 18 series why not just go in with an 18X contract? Why waste your time and Regiments time? A good friend of mine was a medic prior to going to selection, and he ended up becoming an 18E so I don't think they much care what you were in your prior Army life. Good luck, wel...

Re: Recruiter says I cant do Airborne Physical
If I remember correctly the 'Airborne physical' was simply the doc watching me pop my ears and that was it. There may have been something with the color vision test but I seem to remember everyone looking at those silly placards (either PIP or FALANT according to AR 40-501) regardless and I find it ...

Re: Guard to Opt 40
Talking to the Liaisons while at Airborne might be your best bet, although depending how busy they are you might not get much time to chat. I don't know if the recruiters have a physical office for non-Regimental personnel to visit but it might be something to look into as well while your down at Be...

Re: Guard to Opt 40
Have you tried calling the Regimental Recruiting Office (706-545-5124) directly? I had to reenlist to get a RIP slot which might be the course of action you have to take, so maybe try contacting your reenlistment NCO as well. Good luck, never quit!
