USASOC to hold change of responsibility ceremony

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 7, 2012)- The U.S. Army Special Operations Command will hold a change of responsibility ceremony June 14, 8:30 a.m. on Meadows Field at the U.S. Army Special Operations Command headquarters.

Command Sgt. Maj. Parry L. Baer will relinquish responsibility to Command Sgt. Maj. George A. Bequer in a traditional Army ceremony.

Bequer is taking responsibility following an assignment as the Special Operation Command Central command sergeant major.

Baer has been the command sergeant major of USASOC since the December 2007 and will retire after 34 years of service.

Host for the ceremony is Lt. Gen. John F. Mulholland Jr., commanding general of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

FOR THE MEDIA: Media wishing to cover the change of responsibility ceremony must contact the USASOC Public Affairs Office at 910-432-6005 by Tuesday, June 13, 12 p.m. Media should provide after-hours contact information, to include email addresses in case of any changes to the program schedule.


Please provide the number of news team members, video/still photographers, live-feed trucks and other special equipment you plan to bring to the ceremony.  Special needs or interview requests should be submitted at this time as well.

Media should meet representatives from the USASOC PAO office at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday at the Stryker entry control parking lot.  The media convoy will depart no later than 7:30 a.m.
