AIT Question

Post by armyguy1982 »

Ok here is the scoop on this ..I've been informed by a friend who is currently assigned to Ft. Bragg that the Army has no slots open for 74d10 or Chemical operations specialist which is my current MOS in the reserves..I have yet to find out wether or not that still stands or not but I have decided to reclass and enter infantry training at Ft. Benning and is possible enter airborne and airassault as well..my question is would I have to re-enter basic training over again for infantry or do i go directly to AIT..I've been told by few other soldiers that basic for infantry is different then the rest of the army ..is this true ? Thanks for your help Rangers HOOAH

As long as there is little or no break in service you'll only have to attend AIT. As far as any other training...If you're going reserve then your unit would have to fund the training, unless you manage to get an Airborne slot upon completion of AIT.
