That was/is a DAMN good ham Dave.

There is a German community about 20 miles away that has AWESOME meat and cheese stuff. Bought it from one of their stores.

Ham, potatoes, yams, pecan pie and others, jello salad, sweet tea, ah good stuff...

Yep,
This is the new place.

Lots of work to do yet. Finally painted and hung a couple of the last doors left to be done last night, just generally the never ending little stuff.

Damn hot water heater was only staying warm for about 3/4's of a shower, so I replaced both of the heating elements, still the same deal...

Cranked it up to 140 degrees, same deal but hotter at first...

It's getting 240 volts (that shit scares me to test/work on..).

I dunno...

Everybody will just have to suck it up, because I'M taking the first shower ALWAYS ;)

Thanks 1/75 Mom,

The girl on the far right...
That's Adriana or "Dri"
Her brother is the one nearest the camera.

I left for work Thursday, I work evenings, so miss some of the family time most people get..

Anyway,
I was getting ready to leave when my wife made some brownies..
I told her "That's messed up, ya'll make brownies so they'll be done right after I leave..." LOL

So,
she tried to save me some but the two little ones kept LRRP'ing into the kitchen and conducting raids on the brownies.

The brownies disappear until there is one small bit left,
and Adriana tells mom, "Let's save this one for Dad" the sweetheart that she is.

My wife, Jackie, tells her, "That's not enough for Dad, you guys ate all of them"

So Dri eats the last bit and tells Jackie "tell Dad the dog ate his".

My wife tells me this later that night...

I ask my son "WHO ate my brownies?!", he points to 'Dri.

I ask Dri and she says the dog and laughs...

There's a thing inside called a "Dip tube" that is screwed into the cold water inlet side. It's just a pipe that runs down to near the bottom of the tank. It may have broken off and is letting the cold water "short cycle" out the hot water outlet. Cheap to replace! OR, one of your two thermostats could be AFU.

And those are great looking kids!!!!

Slowpoke,
I asked about this problem on one of my gearhead boards and they mentioned that, so it may be a project for this week..

I think it could very well be that because it is getting plenty hot, just doesn't keep hot.

The heater is about the same age as the house, but the house was winterized, so all the water holding fixtures were completely drained and sat for over a year since it was a foreclosure.

PITA about this whole thing is, the water meter is out by the road and is a BITCH to turn off and on, (see my post about the neoghbors inventorying their dogs :) )
And the idjits that built the house put the valve on the hot water side of the heater, instead of the inlet side..

Might fix that also while I'm at it.

We had the same problem with our HW heater. Check the faucet filters for little bits of white crap. That usually indicates the dip tube has gone tits up.

Roger that Steadfast,
Nice to be able to cook a nice dinner and relax.

I didn't do ANYTHING yesterday 'cept eat and lounge. I only walked outside to get firewood.

Gotta get some stuff done today, like change oil on the truck, maybe fix that dip tube, and do some cleaning.

And more eating :)
