Hi, my name is Matt, I'm 17 years old. I'm a senior and graduate high school in June. I just finished my last season swimming competitively and it was not up to my expectations and take full responsibility for my shortcoming. My Grandfather fought in Korea as first a Motorman then was transferred to be a surveyor. My Dad is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves. So you could say it was a no brainier to enlist in the army. I have always loved the old army motto "Be all you can be". It is the reason why I chose the Rangers in my contract. My workout schedule is not the best, I feel like I need someone to help push me and getting me to the next level. I just got a new pair of Mizuno Wave Horizon running shoes and started rucking in my Bellaville Boots with 45-50 lbs at a 14:35 pace roughly. My push-ups need some work and my overall PT needs some help. I would not say i'm out of shape but there is room for improvement. For around a year now, when I wake up I tell myself "There is nothing today that you can't do". For some reason it has gotten me past so tough times recently. I have been "checked out" mentally because my now Ex cheated on me on Valentines day, and is being a coward about it. I have been trying to rebuild my overall confidence since then. I just finished reading Sua Sponte: The Forging of A Modern American Ranger, I could not put it down. Great book and helped me with the anxiety I had over the training.
I enlisted in the Army 20160721. I have an 25U Contract with option 40. I don't want to violate OPSEC so all I will say is that I ship in June. I'm looking forward to being a member on the site and learning a lot more about Rangers.

Matt - Congrats on attaining your OPT 40. Have fun :)
Good base to start with as far as PT goes. Research some work out plans and improve as you can over the next few months. There will be plenty of time in basic/AIT to improve as well. You don't have tons of time to get smart so stay focused. The journey starts soon.

Re: Introduction - Matt
Ranger xray,
I already enlisted as a 25U. I plan on trying to go green to gold while I go to college, whenever that happens and getting some leader experience and promoted to 1LT in another unit and then try to attend RASP 2.
