A rancher’s horse kicked his mother-in-law to death. An extra large crowd, mostly men, turned out for the funeral.
The minister commented, “This lady must have been mighty popular for so many people to be willing to leave their work and come to her funeral.”
“They’re not here for the funeral,” replied the rancher. “They've come to buy the horse.”

Re: A Popular Horse
Ranger rangerjd, I wish I had met that horse 20 years ago.
"My religious convictions teach me to feel as safe in battle as if I were safe asleep in bed. The time of my death is fixed. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave." - General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson
Re: A Popular Horse
I liked my 1 st wife's mother. Every big religious holiday my mother-in-law & her mother (who was 13 when her daughter was born - in the old country, Sicily) started cooking (their feasts) 3 days before the holiday. After the holiday I asked my mother-in-law for a printed menu before the next holiday - I never saw & ate so much before.
When wife & I divorced so went the good eats too.
