Winter Boots

I have been training and running all summer and fall. Winter approaches and i need some good boots that can get me threw the winter without me losing some toes from the cold. With the hills in my neighberhood i cant run with running shoes, ill just slip repeatedly. Any suggestions on what kinds i should get. I looked at Ebay and dont know what i realy need or what im looking for.

I found these and was wondering if they can do the trick.

You'll have to talk to the younger guys. I wore jungle boots the whole fucking time. Those little holes on the side aren't for ventilation. They let the blood and water run outta yer boot. Pretty pink bubbles.

I used Danners at Drum(7 winters), Korea(1 winter) and Italy 2 winters... Had them for over 15 years... Great boot but look to pay about 200 a pair... Cant recommend anytype of winter boot to run in and they do not allow them in Ranger school(if that is what you were talking about)

Don't fucking run in winter boots, dumbass.
You'll get trench foot from hell.
Carry a pair in your pack for when you're stationary for long periods.
Wear regular boots for walking or running distances.

1. Make sure they are fitted properly. Sizing a non-swelled foot in a brand new boot will bring your feet heartache. And have them fitted with the socks you plan on using on your feet.

3. Make sure they're well broken in. Trying to break boots in during the winter is a recipe for disaster.

Hell, at first I thought he was rucking up for the big one.

matterhorns are good because they are free, but they are a cheap knockoff of Danners. IMHO Danners are worth the money...

MM boots are ok if around the patrol base or static ops, dont try to walk very far or walk with heavy loads, They will fuck up your feet and lower back

I also like the Matterhorns. I was issued a pair of ICB (Infantry Combat Boot) at Parris Island and they worked well for cold weather situations. Some have goretex lining already in them, unlike the Army issued Bellview(sp?) cold weather boots where you have seperate goretex liners.
