Hi my name is Dan, 19, I am a high school graduate and am currently working on obtaining a EMT licence.
I enlisted in the army in September with 11x w/opt40, mostly thanks to the information found on this site. I am eager to learn as much as I can from this site about the Rangers, before I ship on Dec 29, 2014.

Roger, Ranger Jim
I was split between 68w and 11x w/opt 40's, and said a quick prayer as the recruiter was on the phone with the ROC. And 11x came up,68W did not. I personally am more than happy with infantry. Hopefully, the EMT classes and internship will help me in the field as an infantryman and Ranger. But since there are no fat people with breathing problems in the infantry, I am not so sure

Welcome to the site, Dan. 11B is a great option if you ask me, although I might be biased, and the medical training will always come in handy. RLTW

Re: Introduction: Dan
Your ambition is admirable. As you have been advised, read much, as there is a wealth of information available here. Do NOT miss the PT thread. You need to work your butt off between now and your ship date. Basic and AIT will not be sufficient to get you into shape for RASP.
Basic and AIT are hard enough for some folks, but RASP will be a descent into another level of Hell. And that will be the easy part.
Good luck to you.

Re: Introduction: Dan
You plan on ever coming back here to participate?
If not, save us all the trouble and just say so.
I'll save my welcomes until you answer the question on whether or not you're going to wind up being one of those one hit wonders.....
