I agree. It's beautiful out there. When I first arrived and saw Mt Rainier I was in awe, never seen anything like it in my life, so much so that I just started walking backwards and staring at it, right into the street and almost got hit by a car my first day there.
That's funny. I've had the opportunity to climb Rainier twice and if you think it is awesome from a distance take a trip up it some time. Go to the Northwest Adventure center, they have climbing expeditions up there a few times a year. I spent 9 years in the Army up here and then have been up here since I retired in 95. There is a lot of stuff to do up here and a lot of beautiful scenery if you take the time to explore, just know you are going to get wet sometimes.
