Introduction - Ryan

Post by CanesWrestling151 »

Hello Rangers!

Starting off, I would just like to say, mass respect to all those who have served on here. I know that the Army can be tough, let alone what the Rangers go through. I've just had a desire to be able to say. "I'm the best at what I do." I know the Rangers could offer that. Well, I'm currently 17 in my junior year of high school in North Georgia, and I can say I love fitness and working out in general. I'd love to give myself a PT test at any time. Right now it looks to be about.

Push Ups- 50
Sit Ups- 60
2 mile- 15:05

I've been more focused on gaining weight and bulking up ever since the prior wrestling season has ended, which I know I've excluded cardio type workouts. I also know I have time but I want to be as prepared as possible. The wrestling mindset really helps out a lot mentally, though I know it's nothing compared to RASP, it's a start. The first goal in mind is completing Basic Training at age 17, and I know I can do it. There's nothing else I'd want more than Ranger status, and I'm willing to give 110% if I can make it that far. I rushed here with so many questions and honestly forgot my intro. I just really want it, and I hope everyone can understand that.

Welcome Ryan. Bulking up is not a good idea, you need to train for endurance. Rangers have to be in the best condition possible, and that doesn't mean being the Incredible Hulk. Think more of a swimmers body.

Pay attention to detail, read the FAQs and board rules, and if you're really serious about becoming an Airborne Ranger.... never, ever quit.
I never wore a cape, but I still have my dog tags.

Thank you Rangers and members, for the advice and the welcome right off the bat, I'll be sure to start training the right way and continue to chase this dream as long as I can! Nothing is worth it if it's too easy!
