Introduction

Post by Scarr45 »

Hello,
My name is Connor and I am 18 years old. I am going to college for at least a year as I promised my parents but have already started talking to a recruiter about an Option 40 contract. I look forward to receiving tips and mentorship by Rangers and would like to get to know everybody.
-Thank you

Connor, that is a weak introduction. First impressions are important. If you want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. We take pride in the fine young men who pass through armyranger.com in their life journey. Tell us more about yourself. Please begin by reading the FAQs as well as selected threads and stickies. Most questions you might have are already addressed. The search feature, located on the top right of this page is your friend. Within 72 hours self-administer a PT test and post it on this thread. Never, never quit!

Im sorry about the weak introduction as I didn't know what else to add. As I said I'm going to college for a year before I make any final decisions as my parents requested as they hope that I will enjoy college and change my mind. I realize that it is ultimately my choice and my life but will respect the wishes of my parents as they are paying for college. Though college seems like a good time I feel that nothing is more honorable then serving your country and even more specifically joining the Ranger Regiment. I have a LONG way to go and realize that but my current fitness test results are
Pushups: 55
Sit-ups: 56
1.5 mile run: 11:00
Thank you Rangers.

Your ambition is worthy, but you have much to learn. As Ranger Jim has told you, you need to read all of the threads available to you before asking any questions.

Thank you Rangers.
The standard APFT standards are two minutes of push-ups and sit-ups; and a two mile timed run. However, you now have established a PT baseline, so you can measure your progress. Never, never quit!

Bowling Green is a good school, you have done well to have been admitted. Please understand that this is a unique website. Everyone who has the honorific Ranger has been verified as a graduate of the Ranger Course or has served in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Never, never quit!
