Sitrep

Post by Rabbit »

Just checking in. Completed OSUT August 9th. Starting next week on Tuesday, I am held over until Airborne school starts. I had a very positive experience at OSUT and made some good friends and learned a great deal.

Starting next Monday, I'll resume PT and improve during holdover and Airborne.

Checking in again Rangers. I'm in Airborne school at the moment having just finished ground week. Everything that has been said about it has come to pass so far. Very easy to get complacent, yet I ensure to PT properly and hydrate (the one thing I took for granted).

Very motivating to see the new Rangers walk to the chow hall with new Tan berets. I'll update accordingly.

Rangers, completed fourth and fifth jump today with the T-10, which got me to the ground a lot faster.i graduate tomorrow and then will be placed in pre-RASP hold.

Nothing really to speak about Airborne school from what's been said. I had a lot of fun jumping out, and was nervous to do it. I eagerly await pre-RASP and count the days to when I start RASP. I bought a nice used ruck from Commandos and have been practicing packing and doing short rucks with it.

Congratulations Rabbit on graduating Airborne ! Fucking awesome, you will remember these days, and those yet to come, when you are old and grey. Drive on through RASP, stay motivated, keep your mouth shut, ears open and never quit.

Rangers,
Checked into Pre-RASP and got our briefing by the First Sergeant and Company Commander. Everything that has been said is summarized into two words "Don't quit." I lucked out and get to go to Cole Range tomorrow on detail, I plan on watching and learning everything I can. I'm looking forward to starting RASP, which there hasn't been any word about, other than that we are the first ones there, so we are looking at about three weeks to class up. Nothing on top of that, I'll try and keep in touch every other week and when we class up.

Rangers,
Thought I'd give a sitrep here. Well, we class up this coming Friday, and I'm nervous and excited as hell. But I know that if I strive to exceed the standard, I'll be ok. This is where it all comes together. I'm lucky enough to class up with Paddyman and we will be going through this together since 30th AG. We have a good group of guys and pre-Rasp prepared me and broke some of the nerves I had about PT, realizing that no matter how rough it gets, I'm still alive and there.

About the first week of pre-rasp, I got to go out to Cole Range and assist with the Rasp 2 set up. I got to meet SFC Kapaczweski and that was quite the honor simply to watch and learn from him.

Other than that, nothing really to add, seeing Worldwide definitely reminds me that quitting is not an option. I'll update accordingly as Rasp progresses.

I can say from experience that you really just "try" and run with SFC Kap.
"Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be here,80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters and we are lucky to have them for they the battle make. Ah, but the ONE, ONE of them is a WARRIOR,and he will bring the others back."-Heraclitus 500 BC
