All the White House had to do Wednesday was rule it out.
For days, the press and the pundits were abuzz with the fanciful notion that maybe -- just maybe -- the Treasury Department could avert a standoff over the debt ceiling by minting a cure-all trillion-dollar coin.
Surely, the White House would dash the idea, no?
But when asked, repeatedly, about the possibility, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney hedged.
Then he hedged again. And again.
And the legend of the trillion-dollar coin continued to grow.

NRCC Chairman, Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., says he plans to introduce a bill to short-circuit any such plan.
"This scheme to mint trillion-dollar platinum coins is absurd and dangerous, and would be laughable if the proponents weren't so serious about it as a solution. I'm introducing a bill to stop it in its tracks," he said in a statement.

I'm sure I saw a picture of Romney sitting in Obama's Office in the White House after the Presidential Election.

I was sure Pres. Obama wanted more details of how Romney was going to lose 10 trillion in U.S. debt. (The amount mentioned in his many debates with Pres. Obama.)
No one can top Pres. Obama (for a thousand years) if he puts his image on the trillion dollar coin.

In Ten thousand years when future archeologists are digging up North America after the great Atomic war and find two or three trillion dollar coins and annoyingly throw them away as if they were finding pennies today.

Look at your new coins today how cheap they look - I'd rather find a Donald Trump Commemorative Coin made of Platinum than a Pres. Obama trillion dollar coin made out of lead, tin and Chinese plastic.
