Ranger Tillman, Ranger School Class

Post by SunDevilWrestler »

I have used the "search" button extensively on this issue and talked to a few people in person about this. As you can tell, I attend Ranger Tillman's alma mater.

My question is this: Did he have the oppurtunity to get sent to Ranger School before he passed on?

I know of 3 Rangers at Arizona State, two of whom are 2nd Batt and one is 1st Batt. Ranger Mendoza who is tabbed, and Ranger Leaf who is not are from 2nd Batt and I talked to both of them about it and neither of them knew for sure since they ETS'd out of the Army in 2001.

Tabbed or not, it makes no difference, I learned this from researching:

The TAB is a school
The SCROLL is way of life

I would just like to know, so when people ask me I have the story straight. A lot of people in Arizona are disrespectful of him and his decision to be a Ranger, I look up to him.

If I missed this in my "search" button quest I apologize and will fulfill any smoking requirements.

Thanks for your time Rangers.

I assumed he had not gone to RS, as there was not much downtime in
2/75 at the time. From what I gathered anyway..
So he would have had to gone between ~ Nov last year and January this year?

Nope he just graduated Ranger school before he went over.

Yes, He attended Ranger School. As a Ranger Instructor I did not get directly involved in his training here at 5th RTB, I did on many occations have the oportunity to observe him while he trained and I can tell you that he was indeed a good soldier.

Pissed me off though that some RIs up here clung to him or around him because of his celeb status.

Bottom line, I have great respect for him because of what he gave up in order serve his country.

First of all, Tillman graduated from Ranger School. He took over a team shortly after returning before deploying overseas.

Second, if your a pussy ass RI and have never been to a REAL bat you shouldn't be able to talk shit about anyone else that has never even been to school.
You can tell an airborne ranger by his RI,
You can tell an airborne ranger by his RI,
Cause he thinks he's in control, but he doesn't have a scroll,
