Introduction
Hope I've figured this out and am in the right place. Great site. Brings back some great memories. I was totally unaware of the site. Things have really changed from the days when I graduated from RS (1961). There was no regiment then -- we were on our own in line units (there were 3 of us in the 26th Inf. [Blue Spaders]) with a mission of teaching. I look forward to exploring more here and seeing what is new (I almost fell out of my chair reading the posts about the use of GPS systems - my GPS was two fluorescent dots moving ahead of me in the dark). Technology is grand.

Re: Introduction
The Vietnam vets welcome you for pushing them a tiny bit back down the age bell curve around here. There is another member here who went to RS in '60 or '61, I forget his moniker, but hopefully he'll know you.
That was an interesting time to have been in Germany.

Not up on the acronyms -- FOG = Fairly Old Grunt?you aren't just another FOG but a REAL FOG
You are only as old as you think you are -- you only washout when you mentally quit.
You must have been in Intelligence since I did not mention Germany. The Berlin Wall had gone up and I did not think they were going to let me go to either Ranger School or Airborne School. At the last minute, my orders were changed to permit RS, then, part way through RS, they cut orders for Airborne School. Then on to Baumholder, Ger. Interesting times, but no combat, which, at age 22, I was looking for, but, as I approach 72, I am just as glad I missed. Left the Army and became a lawyer, a different form of combat at times.K. Ranger School - the only place in the world where you feel like an antennae salesman carrying a 200 ft. sample in a lightening storm.
Thanks for the welcome.
