This is a great organization, we (1st batt. reps) came up a few years ago for the golf tourney they do every year. He really impresses me with the amount of effort and resources he puts towards our community and the families of Rangers who didn't make it back. I am going to make every effort to make it down for this.

I just signed up with the intent to NOT get hit by a car this year.
45-60lb rucks this year
Who's going?
I'd also like to get in contact with the organizers. I'd like to offer 5, 6 month memberships to my gym in NY. If anyone can help me towards this I'd appreciate it.

If there's already a post about this event, MODS, please merge.
What's up with the "45-60lb rucks"'? Is this a tradition, etc.? Please explain.

Some of us kit up and yomp (ruck) it. I've had the honour of doing this with guys from many different branches of services, from all over the world as well as all the gov acronyms (OPSEC).
One guy showed up with a borrowed ALICE pack, a 45lb plate and other bits and bobs to make weight. Another had his Interceptor as well as other kit to make weight.
Got it and thanks. Us "older" guys need some time to train for a 5 mile ruck. This seems like a fitting honor though, especially in the WTC shadow.

I am going to try to move some things on my schedule to participate and will at a minimum donate.

By the way, my wife just asked if the new IFAK has a personal defibrillator. No faith.....

The reason I'm asking if anyone is going to this event is because
I have never been to NYC. I live just outside of Charlottesville, Va.
I was hoping that I might be able to go with someone familiar with
NYC and the event. I will gladly help pay for expences. This is a very
worthy event for all Rangers and vets. I would very much like to
ruck with the rest of you.

As opposed to any Rangers who aren't on here that aren't reading this? You are a strange little man.
