Intoduction- Dexter

Post by Dexter »

Hello Rangers and Ex-Rangers,
My name is Dexter; I am 18, just graduated from high school in California this summer. I enlisted in the Army back in early June as 11x with option 4 Airborne. I leave Oct. 24, At the time i hadnt really considerd becoming an Army Ranger, but since i have been in DEP being around other soldiers and having family members who are Rangers themselves i am seriously considering applying for RASP. This site was recomended to me by another Soldier who couldnt answer some questions i had.

First I have been told different things about the height reqiurements to become an Army Ranger. I am 6ft 6' i was by an E-4 that the Ranger cut off was 6ft 4' he isnt a Ranger though so i am not sure. other than that i scored a 111 on my GT, and i am scoring 240 on my PT test right now. I am just curious to know how i can go about applying for Ranger school if didnt get option 40 in my contract? or if i could even apply.

Any help i could get on some of these questions would be greatly appreciated. sorry for the long intro. and thank you for your time.

There is no height requirement to get the opportunity to go to the Regiment.

Welcome, thank you for enlisting. By the way, there is no such thing as an Ex-Ranger. Many of the questions you have or will have are already answered, use the search feature.

Welcome and congratulations for enlisting! If you are among the top of your OSUT class, especially in PT, you may get a shot at RASP. Search the "Letters From School" forum and you'll find the answer to your question in a recent post. Be sure to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.
