New Dep Intro
My name is Rich, I'm 25 yrs old. I'm currently in the College First Program, attending school at VCU. i signed my contract in May '03 & find out my ship date sometime in Jan or Feb '05. My plan is to apply to OCS (w/ preference in Intel Branch), but if I don't get accepted I'm going try and get either a Psyop or Counterintelligence slot.
The reason I'm 25 & still pursuing my degree is b/c the first couple of years I was more interested in playing rugby, than attending classes. I quit school found a good job. After a while I got bored w/ working a regular 9-5, so I decided to join the Army. I thought about what I wanted, got advice from my father (Active 0-5) and decided OCS was the way to go. So I buckled down started taking classes and put myself in a position to graduate in 2 years. After that, I went and signed my contract & have busted my ass in my pursuit to accomplish my goals.
To all those that are serving/have served/planning on serving, Thank you for your service.

"He only loved people, he thought, who had fought or been mutilated. Other people were fine and you liked them and were good friends; but you only felt true tenderness and love for those who had been there and had received the castigation that everyone receives who goes there long enough." Ernest Hemingway
