Something is wrong with all of us...
Today I was standing in formation to prepare for the award ceremony. As always, someone yelled out "If you ain't got it get down!" All of the non-tabbed privates dropped and started knocking out push-ups. One of the squad leaders then started to yell at a private that did not drop. "What the fuck do you think YOU are doing? YOU ain't got it! GET DOWN!" The private quickly dropped to the ground and elevated his nubs off of his wheel chair. Everyone got a good laugh to include our wounded Ranger buddy. Only in Ranger regiment would you find people sick enough to smoke someone with no legs in a wheel-chair and then still have the audacity to say things like "YOU are NOT going low enough! Don't cheat your body!"

Last I heard he took a Platoon at 3rd Bat. I've been on runs with him. He's pretty damn fast.Jim wrote:Well, Joe Kap is still at Benning, is he not?

Not to hijack the thread, but if Barrett is a 1/75 Ranger with a Tab, why hasn't he been given keys to the back room yet? Perhaps the Mods or Admins could help us out on this one.

The answer is very simple. He has not been vetted.CatFish Driver wrote:Not to hijack the thread, but if Barrett is a 1/75 Ranger with a Tab, why hasn't he been given keys to the back room yet? Perhaps the Mods or Admins could help us out on this one.

Love this story! Treat everyone the same. No differences are noticed. Drop and knock them out.
That private is squared the fuck away as well for knocking them out. He will benefit from being treated the same as the other Rangers despite being in a chair. This is good shit.

Indeed Barrett, I'll warn you now: The rest of your post-Regiment life will be a struggle to remember that the rest of humanity thinks they are the ones who are normal and we are the misfits. Our humor is rarely appreciated by the masses.
Good post, thank you.

Re: Something is wrong with all of us...
A long, long time ago, in a Battalion far away...
Back when 3rd Ranger Battalion first started there were a couple of privates in Bravo company who wanted to try their hand at improvised demolitions. One blew off three fingers. They weren't totally severed, but the fingers were gone from the knuckle, and upward on his left hand. He wasn't removed from Battalion, since he was still able to perform.
However, whenever there was an inspection he had to do pushups because he was out of uniform. He was missing fingers.
When we went to the "assault climber's course" (nothing official, just something set up by the Battalion for a select few Rangers) in New Mexico he would constantly have to do pushups because he wasn't getting a good grip on the rock with all his fingers.
This went on for about a year.
Funny stuff.

The wife said this proves we are all fucking messed up asshole sumbitches...and then she said thank God he made you guys...you're awesome, but sick...whatever.
I'd a pushed with the stud just for shits and giggles...the way I see it he had it easy...shorter lever, less work...WTF is the problem?!?...LOL
Good for him. And good on his Squad Leader. I would never try to equate the two, but when I separated a shoulder, I had a 9 week profile vs pushups, after 3 weeks..and the healing started, I got to do 1 armed pushups with my friggin gunteam....go figure...
