Hello to all the Ranger Community,
My name is PVT Wendt. I am a PVT. E1 in the Army Reserves, my current MOS is a 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist) with the 842nd Quartermasters Co. out of Kansas City, KS. I'm still prior basic, i ship on 03032010, 8 days from now. In December, i'm hoping to transfer to Active Duty as an 11B. At which point i should have my Airborne out of the way. Also at which point i want to begin my process of trying to go Ranger. I think that is really all, if anyone would like to give me some possible advice on going into the Rangers, I.E. PT training to get into better shape, Characteristics to try and impress the Company Commander to be selected to send to RASP, etc.., It is all greatly appreciated. I am a graduate of High school. I have future ambitions of going to college and attaining a Bachelors in Business. But until then i want to serve my nation under the best light infantry unit in the army. Thank you all for giving me the honor be apart of this board of a very prestigious regiment in the US Army.
Sincerely,
PVT Wendt

Welcome PVT Wendt. I took the liberty of deleting your other introduction as only one is necessary. Why did you not enlist for active duty in the first place?

You have your reasons for taking that route. But if being a Ranger is your endstate, their are better ways to go about it...you seem to be taking a longer than necessary path. Good luck with your training.

Re: Introduction PVT Wendt
Thank you Ranger Jim, for deleting the other post it had some security issues. As for not enlisting as active, my ambitions for school were to high at the moment, i thought i had it all figure out and was ready to go to school. As it is now i know i'm not, i have no idea of what i want to major and business i just kind of a fall back degree. So, I am wanting to go active duty now to give myself some time to figure out what i am wanting to do in college and after the army if i decide that the army isnt what i am wanting to do later down the road.
Re: Introduction PVT Wendt
There are quicker ways? May i please know? I thought that i'd have to either wait until i had to re-enlist, or go the long path of waiting on the selection of my future unit. Thank you for the heads up Ranger Snafu.snafu wrote:You have your reasons for taking that route. Please also utilize proper spelling/punctuation. You're not asking a group of high school kids for help on Facebook or Yahoo, these are real, hardened, professional soldier's, remember that.Bravo57 wrote:Or you will go away.JLTW!!! wrote:The force is strong with this one.

Attention to detail will aid you greatly in your quest young man. And that can start right here, right now.
