Ranger Firehunter, I shot one several weeks ago and I find the LCP to be too small for my hands and kinda jumpy. Since it is so jumpy, I spent a lot of time getting the gun back on target in between shots.

I have a Ruger LCP. Shooting buddy of mine let me use his with the linked set up: actually fired better with the Pocket Pal than with out it. Bought both my LCP and PP at the next gun show I hit. Easy to conceal and is a pretty good combination. I don't think I would have bought the LCP without the PP.

Bought one for the wife as a "get off me" gun. took it to the range, and it had a failure to fire about every 3rd round...the hole for the sear pin was off center by about 2mm. sent it back to ruger for the recall (AD issues). got it back, went to the range, same problem...sent back to them again, and they replaced the slide, and spring...now it shoots! Rugers customer service was very helpful and stayed on top of things.

For what it is-a small, front pocket gun...it does the job. The trigger pull is long and heavy, the slide doesn't lock back after the last round, and as stated, she bounces like a bitch, but if you are looking for a gun to shoot 5-10 feet...it will get 6 rnds there pretty well...anything more than that...it's the wrong gun, IMHO.

For a better overall pistol, check out the Kahr 9mm PM9...6-7rnds of 9mm single stack.

Thw LCP is a very popular piece of crap. It is the exact same gun as the Keltec only it has a slide lock and the KEltec does not. Ruger makes some good guns but to me this just isn't one of them. When I sold firearms we saw quite a few returned because they were broken.
Our sales were directly related to what was on the cover of Guns & Ammo that month and I would guess that if the LCP wasn't on the cover we wouldn't have sold even half of what we did. They are very very small pistols. I am just not sure I would trust my life with one. I agree with the Kahr. To me it is just a better pistol. I own a Kahr CW40 that I gave to the wife. it is pretty small and she likes it a lot. But if I want a true concealed pistol I am probably going to stick with a snubbie revoler in .38sp. Less chance of malfunction.

I love my Ruger SP101, .357 Mag, 5 shot revolver. Nice grip, solid feel, but still small enough to conceal easily.

I have been a glock fan for some time, initially I was carrying the 19 (15 rds 9mm) as a concealment weapon and then I got the 26 (10 rds 9mm with with primary mag, and 17 rds in spare mags from glock a 17) The 9mm series mags are interchangeable to the smaller guns. IE the 17 mags fit in the 19 and 26 and the 19 fit in the 26 ) The 26 is reasonable to carry in light clothing. I live in a Beach town and Tshirts shorts are my mainstay and the LCP is perfect for a front pocket deep concealment weapon. I have had no failures to feed or fire and I am shooting Remington golden sabres and Federal hydra shock 380's . The trigger is long and stiff but for a weapon with no external safety that sits in a thin holster in my front pocket I accept that. The LCP does recoil quite a bit but is manageable although my wife does not like it or the glock 26 she prefers the glock 19. The LCP has become my primary carry gun with a glock resting in my vehicle nearby.
