Introduction 3-31-09

Post by necosilens »

Hello Rangers,

Just found this site realized what an amazing resource it is. My name is Jordan, I'm 22 years old and about a buck 90. I went through a bunch of those post just laughing at all the banter and great advice you guys post. Anyways, I want to become a ranger. I wanted to know quite a few things that you guys would definitely be able to help me out with.

What is process behind becoming a ranger (you sign up for the army, go to basic, then someone recommends you for ranger training?)?

What are good choices when it comes to the paper work process with the recruiter?

I want to be ready for ranger school when I get there. You guys have any training routines that would get me in shape?

Anyone have any good personally experiences to share? I'm craving as much information as possible because I want to succeed and do this right.

Thanks,
Jordan

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com. I would suggest you begin by capitalizing the r in Ranger.

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.

Yes sir, ranger ron.

So I have been looking on the net and using the resources up here and I found a SF guide. It seems legitimate for the training in chapter 4 (page 19-23) http://www.stewsmith.com/sfguidelines.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This a good start?

I apologize if anyone thought I was being sarcastic. I wasn't trying to be a stud or a hot shot. You guys have done a hell of a lot more for this country than I have. I thought I address ranger ron appropriately.

According to forum rules it seems that way unless I misinterpreted what it said:

Third - if you are addressing someone on this site who is a veteran in the US Armed Forces, treat them with the respect they are due, as someone who has given of themselves to protect our nation. Even more so if the person is a Ranger - in fact - unless you are an active duty servicemember or veteran, you will address them as 'Ranger' prior to writing their username, such as 'Ranger Saltbitch' or 'Ranger ABell9', etc... New members who show contempt or disrespect for Rangers on this site are quickly banned.

I'm here as a guest not a smart ass.

Please correct me if I am in error. I don't like forum trolls and I have been using this site, quite a bit, to find out about what I'll be facing once I make my final decision.

Wow, jesus I just realized what he meant by capitalize the R in Ranger. I really took it out of context thinking Ranger Ron was referring to the Ranger Creed. Didn't just take as a simple capitalize the R in Ranger...I'm gonna stop making myself look bad and hold my head up in shame.

Sorry Ranger Ron for being a moron won't happen again.

Really have been enjoying all the resources again. Hopefully I stepped out of the way of a few crosshairs.
