The beret and the tab

Post by Hand Job »

I have searched google and AOL Search and can't come up with it.
I know upon completion of Ranger school, you earn the tab. But say you signed a Ranger contract, and after all your training, you are sent to the 75th regiment. How do you get the tan beret and be called a Ranger, and also can you do this and also attend Ranger school to get the tab?
Thank you in advance Rangers.

wow, this is a weak question... USE THE SEARCH BUTTON NEXT TIME!

to be a Ranger and earn the Tan Beret you must...

Complete OSUT in your desired MOS...

Complete Airborne school (all Rangers must be airborne qualified)...

Then if you have Option 40 on your contract, or even not you can obtain a slot to RIP...

IF you complete RIP you are a Ranger! You are a NON-Tabbed Ranger, but still a Ranger and you have EARNED your Tan Beret...

You will then be stationed at one of the 3 75th Ranger Battalions...

After Approx. one year at Bat. when your superiors feel you are fit to go to Ranger School you will be sent, for your chance to EARN the coveted Gold and Black...

IF if you complete Ranger school you will then be sent back to your Ranger battalion as a Tabbed Ranger!

This answer could easily have been obtained on your own, through this site...

Read Airborne Marine Leatherneck's post on enitiative...
