Rangers, Need some advie

Post by Dev89 »

I've looked over the site and haven't really found anything exactly about this. After spending 14 damn hours at meps and arguing with several different recruiters i finally received my 11x option 40 contract. The happiest moment of my life for about 2 damn minutes, I went to the fucking doctor and was fucking disqualified from airborne and option 40 for not popping my damn left eardrum on the 2nd try. They then tried to convince me for another 2 hrs or so to sign a plain old 11x contract, which i refused.
Need some advice on this matter, am I permanently disqualified from airborne and option 40? Of course the liason said they could get me cleared "after i enlisted" fuck that.

Thanks Rangers, feeling somewhat lost as of now.

Go to your own doctor, preferably a ear, nose, throat specialist and get checked out. Maybe you had a slight cold or your ears were just plugged. If an ENT clears you, have him write some documentation and take it to your recruiter. Keep us posted.

That's great. Just make sure you don't sign anything that doesn't contain EXACTLY what you want.

When they trot out crap like that, insist on seeing it in writing.
Good on you for sticking to your guns. The MEPS doctor couldn't care less if you qualify or not, but the recruiters can sometimes talk sense into them.

Thank you Rangers, I suppose that is what he is doing because what i did was i went to another army recruiting office and asked them without telling them anything if I could retest for the Valsalva and they said yes. Thats when my recruiter started cooperating with me.
