And that is why the U.S. is a Republic. Wish we'd start acting like one.

We are definitely entering into the last phase. I am just trying to enjoy what is left of what we have. Our future will be very interesting.
Outstanding! I get to lead my family through humanity's next mass die-off. -Me

Re: Tytler's Cycle
If you want to see what will become of us, just look to England. When we broke away from England in the 18th century, they were like we were in WWII. After our Revolutionary War England became pretty much the only super power. They ruled the oceans, and their empire spread all over the earth (whoever owns the oceans, owns the world). Towards the end of the 19th century they were involved in dozens of little wars that did not need to be fought. They were mainly fought because British ideology needed to be spread. They were also fought because the empire was so huge that vast amounts of resources were needed to keep it running.Rangertab1 wrote:We are definitely entering into the last phase. In the 20th century they were involved in some wars that broke their bank and the economy couldn't recover. Once the economy went bad they dabbled in socialism, and then they immersed themselves in it. Almost all of the British empire has split off from the mother country to become their own nations. This is why they hold onto northern Ireland so tenaciously, or they fight so hard for some small speck of an island off of South America. It is the last of the empire.
They are about 50-100 years ahead of us on this cycle. If you want to see what we will become in some of our lifetimes, just look at them. Fortunately, for England the next superpower to rise up was a friend. When this happens to us, I'm not sure that we will be as lucky.
