REPORTING AS ORDERED!

Post by CAL »

Well, another P.netter here. I saw the ruckus over there concerning LRRSscout and followed the trail over here. I like the layout of this place.

-Enlisted Sep. '96
-Basic: A 1/61 Ft. Jackson, SC
-AIT: B 447 Ft. Gordon, GA (31S - Satellite Communications Systems Operator/Maintainer)
-BAC: C 1/507
-(after jump school): orders to 82d to the (then) new EFOGM unit, stayed a couple of weeks, someone got smart and realized there were no slots for my MOS there; so since 82d Sig was full at the time, I got shipped down the street to the mighty 514th Sig Co. (LRE) for the rest of my military career

Unfortunately, the civilian version sat systems don't have the equipment in them to "boost" the power. For example, while deployed and bad weather hit, we just called up the satellite controllers and either A) they boosted the power of the satellite, B) we boosted our transmit power, or C) combination of both. Have you tried the "rain cover" to put over your dish? They used to be worthless but from what I hear they have improved greatly.

Camaro,
I am in Italy (Europe's Mexico) and cable is about 10 years in the future. I live on the economy so I don't receive any boradcast stuff. Brother If they had cable I would've never seen Venice.
