I met Robin Moore many years ago at Fort Bragg. He was a strong supporter of the Army, and he will be missed.

It was a simpler time in the Stone Age when I was a teenager, but Mr. Moore's book, "The Green Berets," the subsequent John Wayne movie, and the lyrics to Barry Sadler's "Ballad of the Green Berets," had a tremendous influence on me.

I was lucky enough to meet him in Iraq during OIF I. He was starting to slip physically, but mentally was sharp as a tack. Great guy, extremely strong supporter of the men and women of the armed forces. RIP Sir.

As mentioned in another thread, he went thru the Q course back in the sixties as part of his research for "The Green Berets"

He was pro-military and pro-US back when most writers were turning anti-war and anti-military.
