TIME magazine person of the year

Post by Nomad »

Vladimir Putin

His final year as Russia's President has been his most successful yet. At home, he secured his political future. Abroad, he expanded his outsize—if not always benign—influence on global affairs.

TIME POTY

Well TIME really nailed it again this year.

His runner ups included: Al Gore, JK Rowling, Hu Jintao and to make sure they are "thoughtful" of us Americans with national pride - David Petraeus.

I find myself often puzzled with the list of TIMEs people of the year, maybe I'm not understanding the criteria for the award or since I wasn't around for Stalin, Hitler, Uberroth, Brandt, Adenauer their role in the world at that time is lost on me, of course, the American servicemen is my vote for the last five years.

Vladimir Putin will be the next PM of Russia, he has hand picked the next President who will be elected then step down for personal reasons. Which will make Putin President again!

I'm disappointed to see I've been overlooked this year. Again.

First People's Sexiest Man snubs me, then this.

I'm still holding out for Barbra Walter's Most Fascinating Person. Cross your fingers.

It's not the nicest person or the one who's been the most positive, it's the person who's had the most signifigant impact on current events for the year, hence the list of dictators and all around losers.

We're ignoring Russia at our peril.

I can't believe Michael Vick or Adam 'Pacman' Jones didn't win it. I demand a recount.
