Sitrep

Post by Monsoon »

Graduated Airborne on Nov. 2 with D CO. Now I'm in RIP hold until our class starts Nov.26 and we have our PT test next Friday. So far the PT here has been really good. We ran sprints and buddy carries up Cardiac for awhile yesterday. I'm extremely motivated and dedicated to earning my scroll and Tan beret. I'm using all my down time to study and further prepare myself. I'll post again soon.

Do it one day at a time, but never lose sight of the goal - finishing your enlistment while still in Battalion!

A friend sent me this quote today, I thought I'd pass it along as you continue to prepare mentally and physically for RIP....

"I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position.

Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there's no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me."

If, when I come to lay down the reins of power,
I have lost every other friend on earth,
I shall at least have one friend left,
and that friend shall be down inside me.

A whole stream of events;
all manner of unforseen incidents
and chance meetings and material assistance come forth
which no one could have dreamt would appear.
I have learned a deep respect for
one of Goethe's couplets:
"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius and power and magic in it."

Quick update, passed the RIP pt test last friday. So the fun begins on Monday. We have 150 starting in our class. We got to go see the Graduation of the class in front of us this Wednesday and it was extremely motivating. Can't wait to Don my own Tan Beret. Thanks to all the Rangers here for all the information and motivation on this site. Ill post again next time I get a chance.
