Intro...Signal Ranger

Post by Monkey Ranger 175 »

Same story we've heard time and time again...underage drinking. Mine has a little twist...I guess cutting off a cast while sitting in the B Co barracks, watching fellow Rangers getting drug through the streets of Mogadishu, in order to supposedly deploy in OCT '93 was a dumb idea.

Anyways, I didn't let it stop me...went to the 25th ID, graduated Ranger School (4-95), then to 6th RTB as an OPFOR SL/RI, then to Vicenza, followed by O/C duty at JRTC in Ft. Polk, then did my PSG time with 10th MTN.

Went to OCS in Nov 05 (made the MSG/E-8 list while there), stayed the course...I am now a Signal Officer in Afghanistan (again).

My resume:
RIP-NOV 92
1st PLT, B Co, 1-75...Nov 92 - May 94
Ranger School Class 4-95
6th RTB Jul 96 - Mar 99

Anyway, I ran into my RIP instructor from '92 at a gym in Afghanistan and he told me about the site, so I figured I' drop a line and find a few Ranger Buddies and catch up!!!

Monkey was my nickname in BN, I really don't know why, but it stuck and I don't think I've been called that since '95...anyway, cheers!

You were about to pop E-8 and you went to OCS instead? New frontier thing, eh?  Sorry....just never crossed my mind past E-7.
Good on you for doing it, good on you for being here. Someone gay will come along and say "Thanks for serving this great nation", blah blah blah. Most will prefer the Ranger greeting of Fuck you....now sit down and tell us who sent you here.

Yep, your welcome here.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.
