Introduction

Post by deathtaco »

Hi all. My name is Ted; I’m 18 and am an MS2 in ROTC at the University of Maryland. I plan to go into either Combat Arms or the Medical Service Corps upon commissioning. I’m joining this site to gain further information about the Army and to learn as much as I can from those who have more experience than me.

*Personal Info - Figured I'd throw it in*

I ride a SV650
I hike
Played tournament paintball for 5 years
Love to blow stuff up, and prank my friends
Shoot at my local range: AR-15, Turk 38, K31, M48, M59/66x2, 10/22, M1-Carbine, P22

Ok, Ted, a man has only one opportunity to make a positive initial impression. Yours is just marginal. Please self administer a PT test. Post the results here within the next 48 hours.

No excuse for not including the results of my APFT. I actually did one yesterday as a benchmark for the APFT Improvement Program posted on this site.

2 Minutes:
45 Pushups
60 Sit-ups

2-Mile Run
13:40 Minutes

I realize that the scores are not great; however I am working out 4 days a week right now doing body weight exercises, and during school I will be lifting again.

I could not access the avatar gallery on the site otherwise I would've had one by now. I'd rather not have one than have one that is not permitted.

Ted -

Not once have you used the word Ranger in your posts. Perhaps this community is not for you.

Off to a rough start here in Ranger Territory... You have stumbled and tripped some wires. Square yourself away, and grow a thick skin before you stumble beyond recovery.

Ranger 42L5V, the only reason I have come to this site is to gain more information on Ranger School, to read personal accounts of the Rangers that have gone through and graduated from the school. If I go Combat Arms, I want to be the best I can; I believe that pushing and giving my all to become a US Army Ranger would the best path to achieving that.

You need to shave some time off the two mile run.,and get a thicker skin.
You want "HIGH SPEED" this would be the path.
Good Luck.

No, actually I don't understand this. What do you think is going to happen to you at RIP?

Do you not think you will take any verbal or physical beating at RIP?

If you ''will not settle'' here for 'been there done that' Rangers helping you to prepare for what is certainly to come, what makes you so cock-sure of yourself you can tell us what you need to prepare and don't need our help?

oh, before I forget, welcome.

Ranger Chiron, I've been doing the APFT improvement program that is posted in the PT section.

I've also been concentrating on nailing down proper form, so although I may not be doing them fast, my back is straight; I can really feel the difference when doing an improper vs. proper push-up.

Thank you for advice Rangers. More push-ups inbound.
