Ranger EarthPig, I am not sure if I should post his name here, when I retired he was still working in the SOF community at Bragg. When i fist met Tony he was in 2nd Bat but was at Ft Bragg for the SF engineers course. He later got a compasionate to Bragg and was asssigened to my company as a demo dude. He went to the 18D course and later the PA course. After much politicing and groveling he got out of leg land and went to 2nd Bn.

And you're right, always best to observe OPSEC and not post a last name. Thanks.

Welcome. I chuckled when I saw that 3-19th. What were they, some slogan like "ROCK of Chicamuaga" or some such. I dont know why I remember that shit, I cant remember my wifes BD after 26 years nor why the IRS finds me so attractive....but I can remember stupid crap like that. Welcome, again.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

Thanks for the warm reception. Ranger Abell I suffer from that same maledy. I can remember the chamber pressure of an M-16A1, but not my own cell #!!! Back in 78 the we had a lot of ex 1st Bat Rangers in our company. Ranger Ehni my first squad leader (kicked my ass daily)was one who influened my early soldiers life.

Re: Thanks
Yea, when they started the 24thID, they had more people with jump wings than the 82nd and more Ranger Tabs than the Rangers did. Lot of people went through the Batt....I mean MANY MANY people. Termination of jump status was done by the 20'-30's every week. Didnt have RIP so it was pure shock treatment. 1 PT session or road march usually sent a platoon to the 24th. Then, of course...there were those who just got tired of the OPTEMPO with no break and wanted to do shit like meet a woman, maybe get laid and not pay for it.Rlowery wrote:Thanks for the warm reception.
