Everything is go, I am set to enter as E3 and I have Airborne qualified in my medical report, however they were not able to offer me a contract yet.
As it turns out I will require an age exception in order to secure the 18x contract (I missed the age cutoff by less than two months) and the exception did not come back either way before the control desk shut down.
In the mean time they were not able to offer me any other jobs even close to what I wanted.
Nada.
The only OPT40 they came back with was Food Services Specialist

I know someone has to cook for the Rangers, but that's not what I had in mind.
So now I am playing the waiting game, to see if SF will allow the age exception, and if they don't, my recruiter is saying something like, "Option 40 may be asking a bit too much right now".
Not cool.
If my 18x is denied I would be all over 13f or 11b with OPT40.
The good news is that the recruiter needs me to sign in order to make his two for the month, so I know he'll be trying. I just don't want him give a line of BS just so I'll sign.
He said something like,"You can always go to the Rangers anytime you want" and "SF recruiters come by every week, you can drop papers for it as soon as you hit the first duty station". I am a bit skeptical of those statements right now. I have read on this site and elsewhere too many times "get it in writing", and that sounds like good advice to me.
One thing I have read is that if you get ABN in the contract, while at Airborne school you can volunteer for Ranger, and that this is one of the only times you can easily do that. So, unless that information is incorrect, it looks like that will be my last resort.
That is all I have to report at this time.
Once again, thank you Rangers.
