5 Years in 2/75 and no Ranger School? Is this possible?

Post by BruteForce »

We just hired a person claiming 5 years in 2/75 (mid-90's), but never attended Ranger school, is this possible? :?:

Best thing you could do is invite him to this site. Or grab your shit stirring stick and start poking him. Ask him what company he was in and his chain of command and PM one of us the info. Anyone in for 5 years in 2/75 in the 90's would be known by several members of this board.

More so for a soft skill MOS than infantry and 13F.

I knew a few dudes in line companies that were good dudes but could never complete school. They were 11B's but served in an admin capacity for the 1sg. In C Co we had Phillips, Van Alst, Abeyta and Walker who were all tabless spec 4's in the mid-90's that never got DX'd, but it was definately rare. 2 chances with no tab usually spelled manchu land or MI. I served in 2/75 from Apr92-Dec95, PM me their name and if they were there, I will or I have a bro that would know them.

Torch1c and myself had a very good friend that spent his whole enlistment in Aco 3/75 2nd Plt and never got Tabbed. The fucker went to school numerous times and could never pass the swim test, but he was one of the best Rangers you would ever meet. Sometimes it just works out that way.

There was a non tabbed E-5 in the commo/arms room in Bco. He was one of the guys that made the trip to OJC with me.

It is possible.

We had a guy like that. Two time loser at Stupid School. Stayed in the line, and was one of the best gunners I have ever seen. Damn good Ranger. He just would go tits up before most would.

Now, he is an engineer for NASA. No shit.
