Greetings
Just wanted to say hello, and keep in touch with my past life. I have really enjoyed going through this site and revisiting some memories - some good, some not so good, y'all know what I mean. Sharp salute to all Rangers past and present.
I never served in a 'Bat', but was at Bragg in the early nineties. Completed Ranger school and remaining tour of duty with a compression fracture in lower back, courstesy of Wig Mountain in Desert Phase. Who was standing there in Dugway class 8-90 when the RIs called us in admin, and said "You guys think you're done with the desert? Well, Iraq now owns Kuwait. Those of you from Fort Bragg grab your shit.
18th FA Brigade (XVIII ABN Corps ARTY) was the first complete brigade in theater. We did get to graduate at Benning on the way out. My Ranger Buddy, then SSG (P) Mark Jackson was NCOIC of Silver Wings, jumped my tab into graduation and pinned me. He went straight through, I almost did, but recycled Dugway because of a damn false saddle that wasn't on the map. Son of a bitch. Still remember it like yesterday! Mark was an awesome RB for a brand new 2LT. (S) to you, Buddy. And SFC Navarez of 7/75 RTB, I'll bet you remember me.... ANd SGM Shockley at Dugway, KIA on a Halo Jump in '90. They named the Physical Fitness Center in Dugway after him. Great NCO. Great Leader. Lots of memories.
RLTW,
Ranger Mylander

Re: Greetings
7/75 RTB was the Ranger Training Battalion in Dugway Proving Grounds, UT (Desert Phase) when I went through. Can anyone enlighten me as to why the desert phase is no more, since all of our fighting these days is pretty much in the desert?AbnRgr289 wrote:WTF is that?Ranger Mylander wrote: 7/75 RTB
