..just a little story about ME!
First, a bit of background stats:
- Son of 28 year US Army (MSG/E8 )
- Brother to active duty Air Force (E8 )
- Lived throughout the world, but mostly Europe
- US Military Academy (West Point) nominee in 1986 (Sen. Hatch & Garn)
- JROTC and ROTC participant
- US Army UH-1H (Huey) crew chief/crew member (MOS 67N)
- US Army Air Assault
- Temporarily assigned to a JAG unit (ouch!)
- Presently CIV, working in an INFOSEC capacity (with Dept. of Justice)
Now, on to some other information:
While I aspired to attend (and ultimately complete) either Ranger or at the very least, Airborne school(s), my MOS didnt allow for anything further than Air Assault, and my initial duty station wouldn't have permitted the extra time anyway.
Most of my time was spent in Germany, in one aviation detachment or another, usually assigned to a Medivac ("Life from above"!) unit, and occasionally on DEA incursion tasks (I have no idea why they would pick the units I was in).
At any rate, after about 8 years service (and shortly after Desert Storm), the wife was concerned about how many missions I was away on, and kindly asked that I find a better paying CIV career. Having been a computer "geek" and hobbyist, I was fortunate to get a CIV job as a recruiter, where I ultimately discovered INFOSEC and establshed a (another) career in that role.
I'm now happily living the CIV life (but missing the smell of JP4 jet fuel and early morning missions), have two sons (ages 8 and 12) and enjoy reading the "BS" that's spewed-forth in these forums.
- I will prompty pick out an Avatar now (so I don't get kindly informed to "FUCK OFF!"

Avatar fixed..
Not sure why I couldn't upload my graphic, but had to ultimately place it on my public website to make it accessible.
I sure as hell wasn't going to use one of those porn fuckers as my logo!

LRP1: On the West Point nominee status, since I was a DEP at the time, my military medical jacket indicated an "allergic reaction" to some kind of insect bite. Even though I was injected with every strain of biting insect (bees, spider, etc) at that time, West Point still disqualified my application.javascript:emoticon('')
