Introduction
Hi,
I am a 19 year old currently working as a lifeguard at a pool down the street. I've been planning on joining the Marine Corp since I got out of high school. But my plans have changed recently after I met and had a long conversation with a Ranger. This guy was ready to conquer the world. His energy and charisma was outstanding.
Ever since that day I have wanted to be an Airborne Ranger. The only thing holding me back from going down to the recruiter's office today is that I'm concerned about making the cut. For me it's Ranger or bust. I don't want to get screwed into a desk job because I wasn't ready for Ranger life.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for your interest in becoming a Ranger. You can learn a lot about how to make your interest become reality by closely following the rules of this site, reading much and posting little. Any question you have has been answered. Welcome and good luck.

I need to clarify myself. When I said I don't want to get "screwed" into a desk job I meant that I do NOT want to join the military service and get a job that I did not originally go in for. I do not want to be a cook, supply officer, weapons expert or any of another thousand CRUCIAL jobs. I want to be a Ranger.
My apologies in the misspelling of Marine Corps.
Someone put it exactly right. I haven't done jack shit but "think" about joining the service. My workouts are even close to what I need to be doing. I need to brush up for the ASVAB and I need to get my ass down to the recruiter's office. (I just called my recruiter in Ann Arbor 15 minutes ago!)
I greatly appreciate ALL of you're replies. You are helping me achieve the mentality I need for when I am a Ranger.
Thank you for your time.
