Hello, I am Nate. I currently serve in 1st Bde, 1st Cav. as a Signal Support Specialist/ SATCOM Operator and Maintainer. This is my second enlistment and I am considering doing the things I missed out on the first time around.
I was stationed as a strategic SATCOM'er for my 1st 6 years and then got out and contracted for USAISEC for 2 years. Being a civilian just wasn't my suited for me and I decided that making the Army a career is what I should focus on. Currently, I am a Specialist trying in the process of rectifying that situation.

Ranger Bill,
Mainly to learn and try and decide the path I want to pursue. I am looking to get a little tactical commo experience under my belt and deployment time with the 1st Cav, but then I am considering pursuing a Special Operations support role or maybe give Ranger a stab. It's a big change of pace from what I have done in the Army previously and want to make sure it is the right thing for my family and I before committing to that path in life.

You don't give Ranger a "stab." Understand that it's a life committment.

It wasnt a choice. I was listed as a 6 year E-4 coming back in. Long story short it was a paperwork issue. I took the E-4 coming back in figuring I could get my E-5 back within a few months and that caused me to have to pick a new MOS. My new chain of command is redoing the paperwork whether I seem to like it or not to become a 25S anyways. I am just hoping now I can get my rank issue squared away in the process.
Ranger Bill, Didn't seem to make it sound like I would give it less than 110%. Definitely, if that is the choice I make it will be with the full understanding and desire of the commitment involved.
