Hello to all my Ranger brothers. I'd like to introduce myself to those who care to communicate. I'm Rock [xx] and I served in the 2d/75th Ranger Bn from the beginning in Oct 1974. As a matter of fact, I was the first enlisted volunteer for 2d BN. I took an 11 year break from the military in 1979 and came back in 1990.
I have come across many old friends and leaders that have made my re-entry into the Army rewarding and positive. I'm currently serving in Iraq and I am grateful for the chance to serve our nation, work with great soldiers, and try my best to make a difference.
If you haven't heard of my first Company Commander, COL (R) Robert L. Howard, then I would ask you to look at the tribute website to this great American and the most highly decorated soldier from the Vietnam War.
He went from privae to COL and only missed SGM and 2LT.
He is the man that help mold me early in my Ranger days and also promoted me to SGM. He is one of our "living legends" and you should know about him.
