Introduction

Post by JordanT »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Jordan and I am a high school student from Sammamish, Washington. I have wanted to be an Army Ranger ever since I can remember and I hope can learn a lot from you all here. You are all my personal heroes and I promise not to make any trouble or punk ass comments and Ill acknowledge right now that I don't know shit. I might pipe up from time to time, but only for a question. Thanks and hopefully ill be able to join your ranks some day.

Just re read that and realized how utterly dumb that sounded. I just want to make an introduction in case I had to ask a question that I couldn't find on previous posts. I am currently training for when I go into college ROTC next year and am studying up and gathering all the tips I can. Being a Ranger is my ultimate goal, and I'm doing just about everything I can to get there so I appreciate your help. Sorry for the idiotic first post.

Thanks,
Jordan

You need to think about what you really want. If you want to be a Ranger as badly as you say, then ROTC is the wrong route to be taking. After 4 years of college, you will be put in the branch they want you in. It may be one that you do not want, and may keep you from ever even attending Ranger school, let alone ever getting into a Battalion some day.

I am not bashing ROTC, but I saw my share of hard charging MS4's who were crushed when they found out they were branched Chemical or Transportation mid way through their senior year.

Welcome.

All I can do is echo what Dman said. Think about the route you choose to take.

Thanks everyone, I never knew that you didn't have a choice in what branch you went to. I always thought the best cadets got the first pick in where they wanted to go. I definately want to go infantry, if nothing else. Wouldn't wanna end up in the rear with the gear getting armchair ass blisters.
