Intro Ryan

Post by PULSAR »

Hi, my name is Ryan, I'm 21 years of age. I have graduated HS and have a couple years of college under my belt. After years of going to school and working a civilian job I just decided this life wasnt for me. I came to this decision during my fathers deployment in Iraq. Orginally thought I was going to go 74B, gave it some good hard thought and said to myself if I'm going into the Army might as well go for it all. I love PT, running mile after mile, push-ups, sit-ups...I love it all. I have seen the effect of the Iraq war, one friend wounded another KIA. I can't sit back and watch CNN and not do anything. Called a recruiter on a Tuesday and swore in the following Monday. My contract is as follows 91W with an option 40. My leave date for basic is September 19, 2005. Had to get it pushed back from the 15th due to it being my mothers birthday. I'm am looking forward to serving with my brothers in arms and soon to be wearing the tan beret. I know the protocal on how the usual 11x contract goes but its really hard to find information about medics and all the additional training they go thru. I searched the forums but couldn't find much. If anyone can point me in the right direction of what to expect, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Ranger role models

-Ryan

Welcome to the Site. Excellent choice. The Regiment always needs new motivated medics. Now all you have to do is make it there.

As long as you pay attention to detail and read, read and read the forums, even two weeks will give you a huge headstart over your peers.

One of the DEP's will be along shortly.
