Marine intro

Post by onceagain2 »

Hello Rangers and Veterans. Just found this site a couple weeks ago doing some searching. I am a former Marine. Served from 1990-1994 with 2bn 4th Marines at Lejuene. Was in Desert Storm and then did a med float and a 6 month tour of Okinawa. I have been spending the past few months wishing I was still active duty.

Regardless, I am considering joining the army and have seriously been considering Rangers. I have a lot of respect for Rangers. From reading on this site, it is easy to see the loyalty and respect for each other and the high standards that are set and maintained by each.

My only concern is age. I see there have been a few others in thier 30's looking to do the same, but I don't see where any have come back to say if they have made it or not. What is the average age in the Ranger Batts?

This is a great site full of information. Thank you to all the Rangers and Vets alike.

SkyShark is right, this question has been asked many times. But I am sure the old timers would be glad to tell you personally that it can be done if you are still in peak physical condition. There are a few guys here that went through in their late 20's and 30's. The one important item is not to quit.

Welcome and thank you for your service Marine - Semper Fi - USA USA USA

Age won't be a factor. I was 30 when I enlisted. Being prior service is where you will hit a snag. The closest you will probably get is doing an SF gig. Talk to Leatherneck on this site. He is also a GWI Marine. He spent over a year trying to get an Option 40. He ended up taking an 18X SF slot. Good luck with whatever route you choose....and welcome aboard!
