DEPS look

Post by rgrpuck »

We did the Pt assessment for the company today. Assessment consist of 1Min Push ups 1 min Sit ups, and a 1 mile run. Bear in mind they have been in the army about 5 days. I am continually amazed at the lack of physical ability displayed by initial entry soldiers.

The average age in my company right now is 18.

Male average push ups where 23 in one minute

Sit ups 30.

We marched to the PT track and I had a 17 year old fall out. Breathing like his heart was going to explode and clutching his cheast.
He is 17. (Had to add this) The track is 500 meters away.

If you DEPS out there have not prepared yourself ......you will fail.

I am totally disgusted. It makes me want to suck start my 9 mil.

See, the next motherfucker that say's shit about me making my kid's do PT is going to get throat punched... This is why. I have no clue what's going on with these people, I am sick as a bitch and I can do more push up's and sit up's than that. Pathetic bastards. I honestly have to go hit some shit. I pity the person that posts something stupid for a little while. Shit.

I remember the required physical fitness standard to get into basic training was ridiculously low. 13 pushups for a male... :? . And there are still people that cant do it. But a 9 min mile is ridicules. They had to be shaming it.

Privates have to take the same Assessment prior to departing for Basic.

Most recruiters have to pencil whip it because these kids are so pathetic.

Supposedly if they fail, they can't ship. Well I shouldn't say supposedly... THEY WON'T.

Their contract will be terminated. No recruiter is going to let their chain of command come down on them for that. They pass them for making the effort instead of actually meeting the standards.

Poor values set from even before Basic Training.

I'm a FOG. I can do that. Something serious is going on. Too many city boys and not enough country boys anymore. That is sad.

Damn, my 12 year old did 53 pushups in 2 minutes in his PE class in 6th fucking grade!

Then again, he and his teammates spent alot of time in April & May with their feet elevated during practice.

Aww, you just like putting long, hard cylindrical objects in your mouth. :D

It would be more proper putting it into the mouths of the trainees. It would provide proper motivation.

I hope that you at least provided them with a motivational speech.

The average age in my company right now is 18.
I happen to believe that serious athelete will reach his top physical conditioning by the time he enters his 30s. Runners peak earlier at mid-to-late 20s.
We marched to the PT track and I had a 17 year old fall out. Breathing like his heart was going to explode and clutching his cheast.
He is 17. (Had to add this) The track is 500 meters away.

Now that is truly heartbreaking..... (pun definitely intended)

I guess this Nintendo generation likes to play video games and watch the boob tube instead of spending quality time outdoors like playing sports. That sitrep is disconcerting to say the least Ranger Rgrpuck.

Holy shit! I am fat and broken and that is pathetic to even me.

Ranger 1SG, my condolences. I believe long term smoke sessions are in order.
