There are a number of soldiers missing a limb who stay on active duty. Freddy Franks, lost a leg and eventually commanded VII Corps in Desert storm, he commanded Forces Command (FORSCOM) and GEN Rick Shinseki who lost part of his foot. He was Chief of Staff of thre Army and currently serves as the Chief of the Veterans Affairs.

SFC Kap is still doin' bad things to bad people in 3/75 sans a leg.

seancul55 wrote:That's pretty awesome stuff, especially with guys like SFC Kap. To go through all of that, and at the end of it still be rolling out and kicking in doors with the guys. Makes whatever problems I may have sound sound pretty easy haha.

As for General Franks, I read that Tom Clancy biography on him YEARS ago. Needless to say, I don't recall a whole lot of it, but I believe he went in on a helo assault into Cambodia at one point? Was a pretty entertaining read even though I was probably 12 and didn't understand any of the technical aspects of it.
I'll likely see him next week. GEN Franks is doing well.

Ranger Goon175,

I had the pleasure of meeting SFC Kap while in Pre-RASP and he is doing well with keeping it hell for people over there.

I'm still alive and dedicated to the goal. I'm going to be DEPing in this December/next January (5-6 months from now) as that will be the one year mark from my graduation. Just wanted to stop by again. I haven't done a PT test lately, but I'm still around 6'0" and 235. Just been lifting for football and working on the landscaping crew at a country club this summer. Well, that's all. Take care.

Oh so let me get this straight. You want us to do the work of re-typing an answer you were already given so you don't have to take the time to look through your own fucking post. So do you want us to do RASP for you too since clearly looking through a 53 post thread is clearly too much work for you. Get you head out of your ass and go find your own fucking answer and stop being lazy!!!!!

Make sure your recruiter and anyone else you come in contact with at MEPS understands your desire for an option 40 contract. Don't quit just because you're told it can't be done. Fight tooth and nail for what you want. Some people don't get what they want because they don't fight hard enough for it. Give everything you've got, ever time you give and never, ever quit. RLTW

seancul55 wrote:Ranger rangerjd, I will make sure to push hard for the Op40 despite the waiver dilemma as you suggest. All I meant to say was that if it proves to actually be completely impossible, I am not afraid to take the path many Rangers have and fight for it in OSUT through my performance. Thank you for your guidance.

This is what I got from your last few posts.

You can't be bothered to research your own posts for answers already given.

You still can't run outside for some reason.

Almost 4 years later your run is still "sub 15minutes". Which is walking speed.

You're clearly not pushing yourself beyond breaking a mild sweat, as opposed to puking on your own feet and shitting yourself while you run, and that is no exaggeration. You are not ready.

There are those men who want to be a Ranger and those that wish they could be a Ranger. Those who wish, sIt around watching Rambo movies and Black Hawk Down; talk about how high speed and tough they're gonna be someday; run on treadmills and workout in gyms with walls covered in mirrors so they can see how strong they've become.
But those who want to be a Ranger, want it more than anything else on earth, step out into the elements, run on dirt roads, back woods and pavement until they puke and then run some more, pushing ever harder, ever faster. They lay in muddy wet field doing flutter kicks and sit ups. They do push up until their face drops in the mud and then they get back into the front leaning rest and push out at least one more. They never weaken, they never quit. Always looking forward, striving for the next hilltop, not so they can finish, but so they can see the next hilltop they need to climb. Giving everything they've got, every time they give and never, ever quitting.
Which one are you? Think long and hard. If you want this, then you need to be willing to commit 110% and then some. All the way, every day. A Ranger is self motivated, SO GET MOTIVATED and drive on.
