Ranger Goon,
Thanks for your reply. I am current an NREMT-Basic. My intent was to use my 4 years of Firefighting/EMS experience coupled with my 1 year of full-time (5-10 calls) per 24 hour shift on the Metro Ambulance to gain an Option 40 on my contract.
Recruitment Question
Re: Recruitment Question
Rangers,
I also am looking for a 68W Opt 40 and have not been able to find one yet. I know that you can volunteer while in AIT to try out for Ranger Medic (saw the application on the Regiment's website and Ranger Recruiter told me the same). If I were to take that route, do I have to hope that there is an Opt 40 by the time I am in AIT (Ranger Goon175's post seems to suggest that) or do I get to volunteer at AIT and then get put on a waiting list? I ask because it seems that, if the later is true, it would be better for me in that I wouldn't have to run the risk of missing an opening because I happened to visit my recruiter a few hours too late.
Thank You,
Doug
